At Jesse’s E-Rides, every customer has a story—but some stories hit closer to home. Recently, Shannon from our team had the chance to reconnect with an old friend, Jimmy Appio, whose resilience and determination are nothing short of inspiring.

The Journey Back

Shannon and Jimmy have been friends since childhood, growing up together in Little Silver. In 2021, Jimmy experienced a life-altering hemorrhagic stroke. While he survived the incident, mobility challenges became new realities for Jimmy.

Jimmy had always loved riding bikes, something he deeply missed during his recovery. He wasn’t sure if he'd ever ride again. But then, Jimmy saw Jesse riding a trike around town and something clicked. It gave him hope. 

Rediscovering Independence on Three Wheels

Soon after this discovery, he got a Lectric XP Trike of his own. Jimmy chose this model due to its stability, comfort, and ease of use. When his trike needed a tune-up, we were all in. We serviced it, made sure everything was in perfect shape, and delivered it right to his doorstep.

When we asked Jimmy what riding means to him now, he said: 

“I ride it almost every time that I can. At first, it was really hard, but now I've even gotten to the point where I can ride it to the store on my own.”
