The NJ E-Bike Law: Day 105 – The New Advocacy Resource Center Is Live

Today marks Day 105 since the New Jersey e-bike law was signed.

A major new advocacy tool is now live, and it is designed to make it much easier for riders, families, businesses, and supporters to get involved.

The NJ E-Bike Resource Center

The New Jersey Bike & Walk Coalition has officially launched a dedicated E-Bike Resource Center.

This hub brings together advocacy materials, legislative tools, educational resources, and direct action links all in one place.

These are the same organizations and advocates meeting weekly to work on solutions, including NJBWC, PeopleForBikes, and other advocacy partners.

What You Can Do There

The Resource Center gives supporters multiple ways to take action immediately.

  • Send letters directly to legislators
  • Find your local representatives
  • Access talking points and advocacy materials
  • Subscribe to updates and newsletters
  • Download printable resources and signage

One of the most useful features is the pre-written legislator letter tool.

You simply enter your information, and the system automatically sends a message to your elected representatives. You can customize the letter if you want, but even using the standard version helps make your voice heard.

Advocacy Tools Continue Expanding

The site also includes access to advocacy materials that have been developed throughout this effort, including:

  • Talking points
  • Wallet cards
  • Counter signs
  • Educational resources

There are also links to videos explaining the issues surrounding the law, including the difference between e-bikes and e-motos.

The Classification Decision Tree

Another feature highlighted in the update is the interactive bike classification decision tree.

This tool helps riders understand how different vehicles are categorized based on factors such as:

  • Pedals
  • Speed
  • Power
  • Equipment

It is designed to help riders better understand where their bike fits under the current framework and what requirements may apply.

Progress Is Being Made

While not every detail can be shared publicly yet, the continued expansion of advocacy resources shows that the effort is still moving forward.

More tools, more coordination, and more public participation all strengthen the push for legislative change.

The important thing right now is to stay engaged.
